Welcome to my Blog!

Aloha Everyone!

Phew! It has been a hectic few weeks, yet I'm glad to have this time to share some fun and interesting tid bits about what I'll be up to in the coming season...

My team and I are traveling to New York over the next few weeks for some exciting events.

I was very flattered to be invited to cook the dinner for the James Beard Foundation Awards on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in Manhattan. This is a great opportunity to share my point of perspective on Hawaii Regional Cuisine with an audience of my culinary colleagues from across the nation!

Look out for me on The Today Show on NBC on Wednesday, November 21, 2007....the day before Thanksgiving. It will be good to see my old friends, Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Ann Curry...I am looking forward to meeting Meredith Vieira.

We recently filmed an episode of Giada's Weekend Travels for the Food Network. Giada is as cute and personable in person as you would imagine. The episode will air in Hawaii on January 25, 2008 on the Food Network....check your local listings if you are reading this from afar.

My home office has been buzzing with activity as everyone prepares for the upcoming holidays. I welcome everyone to contact my catering company, Celebrations Catering, for assistance with holiday events.

Well, folks.....my cell phone is ringing, there's someone knocking at the door, the fax machine is doing a strange boogey and the cat is giving me a dirty look. Thank you for stopping by....please post comments - I read every one even if I can't respond in person! Let me know if there is something you would like to see or if I may answer any question that you feel may benefit our readers.

Best wishes until next time.

With warmest aloha,

Bev

Oh nuts! I'm happy for your honor to prepare this special dinner, but I will miss seeing you! I'm coming to Maui for my 50th birthday. We discovered you the last time we were there and have looked forward for months to enjoying your food again. How about sharing the recipe for the crab pizza? Please? For my big birthday? We love it. One of our first stops will be at HGS!

Bev,
I just saw the Food Newtwork Challenge Luau Beach BBQ. Your corn & jicama slaw looked delicious. Good jicama recipes are hard to find. Would you share the recipe?

Aloha Jill! Thank you for tuning into the Food Network Challenge. That was a lot of fun, but is was so very hot that day!!!!! I tease Sam Choy about crying at the end every time I run into him! I was on his cooking show recently and it's always good to spend time with and catch up with my good friend Sam Choy. Regarding your request for that recipe.......I have included that recipe in my new cookbook that will be published in the Spring of 2009. At this time I am unable to give out any of the recipes in the book until it is officially released so please keep reading the blog for updates on the new book and keep cooking!
With warmest aloha,
Bev

We just flew back from Kauai on Hawaiian Airlines and my husband absolutely loved the Stuffed Chicken Wing. He even asked the flight attendent for seconds, so I stole bite. It was wonderful. Is the recipe in your cookbook. If not, would you mind sharing it, please?
