Aloha Bev, just received my copy; thanks for another terrific cookbook! I see so many recipes that will delight my husband and friends, as well as my personal favorite from the Hali'imaile General Store: the crispy calamari and spinach salad. My husband and I canceled reservations at another restaurant during our vacation so I could return for another salad. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We will be heading for your restaurant April 24 after deplaning. I hope that your new cookbook is available at the restaurant and that the recipe for your Pineapple Upside Down Cake is included. We have enjoyed many recipes from your first book.

Aloha Carol & Neil - the Calamari Salad that you mentioned is currently being served at Hali'imaile General Store and is not in any of my books at this point. A GREAT calamari recipe is featured on page 79 of my new cookbook: Family-Style Meals at the Hali'imaile General Store! Pick up your copy today on my website or by calling the restaurant. I hope to meet you folks some time and would love to make a visit to Nova Scotia to try your scallops - I'll have to put that on my list!

With warmest aloha,
Bev

Is the amount of flour for the pineapple upside cake correct in your new cookbook? I'd like to try that recipe, but it doesn't look right. I'm trying the chicken in lettuce leaves tonight. Barbara

Aloha Barbara,

You are correct - the amount of flour is not correct as published. The amount should be 2 and 1/2 cups of cake flour. The mistake was caught right after the printing and will be corrected in the next round of prints.

Mahalo and enjoy!

Aloha,
Bev
