The Seawatch Restaurant, Wailea, Maui

Aloha! I have just taken over the Seawatch Restaurant in Wailea on Maui's glorious south shore. Folks, the views from the restaurant are spectacular! We shall open for business to the public on Friday, August 14, 2009. We will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner so be sure to stop by and check out the new menu I am cooking up and to say, "Hi!" Reservations are suggested for dinner and for large parties (over 5 guests) at lunch. Please call (808) 875-8080 to make reservations!

With warmest aloha,

Bev

Congratulations, Bev! The Seawatch is a beautiful space. Our family usually eats their for our final night when we visit the island annually. This is exciting news.

Hi Bev,
We are so excited about you taking over the Seawatch restaurant! We always have lunch there after playing golf on the gold course. Since your General Store and Joes are our two favorite reataurants on Maui, we couldn't be more pleased!
Best wishes,
Yvonne

Bev, Congratulations on your newest adventure. We were guests of friends of ours last week in Maui and had the pleasure of dining at Haile Maile. What a fantastic experience. It is absolutely the best food and service that I have ever experienced. Jaisy was a delight and the caesar salad dressing was to die for. The best I have ever had. We will definately be back when in Maui. Would the recipe for the caesar dressing be in one of your cookbooks? Thanks for such a memorable evening. Definately the best establishment in Maui as well as all of the Hawaiian Islands

Aloha Rob!

You win the award for the nicest comment of the day! I am truly pleased that you enjoyed your experience at Hali'imaile General Store. I shall pass along your comments to the staff and particularly to Jaisy! You are right - she is an absolute delight! My twist on the classic Caesar salad truly is one of my favorite menu items. Unfortunately, that recipe is not in either of the last 2 books, but you never know......I'll think about including it in the next one! Please stop in and say, "Hi!" on your next trip to Maui and I might sneak you some tips on how to make a GREAT Caesar salad! Again, many thanks for your comment!

With warmest aloha,
Bev

Dear Bev, My fiance and I are getting married at Seawatch on March 4, 2010. My 83 year old Mom will be my matron of honor, and together with many of our family members, we are hoping to make some very special memories with you and your staff as we celebrate our wedding day. We've heard such wonderful things about your restaurants, we just know we won't be disappointed. We look forward to our trip, and meeting everyone of your staff members. Linda

Aloha Bev,

A priority on our regular visits to Maui is always lunch at HGS, where we enjoyed meeting you years ago after sampling your incredible Pineapple Upside Down Cake, which transported me on first bite back about 40 years to my mother's kitchen. What a treat! You were even kind enough to share your fabulous recipe. We also got to say "hello" at the Sunset Celebration Weekend a few years back, although you meet so many people that we're sure you don't recall either encounter. Anyway . . .

Seawatch, with its superb location, has been another lunch favorite of ours (with easier access from our place in Kihei), but a bit of a disappointment over the last few years. Imagine our surprise and delight when we arrived two days ago, picked up a Maui Weekly, and spotted the ad for "The New Bev Gannon's Seawatch." Our first reaction? "Way to go, Bev!!!" We can hardly wait to visit you there, and will do so in the next few days so we have plenty of time to return over the coming weeks.

Congratulations and best of luck on your new venture. Aloha,

Stephen & Sherrill Smith
